July 6, 2014 - Christ the Reedemer

Today we are going to go see Christ the Reedemer. Christ the Redeemer is a statue in Rio de Janeiro that was cconstructed in the early 1930's. It is considered on of the seven wonders of the world, standing at 40 meters tall and weighing 635 tonnes. The statue represents Jesus of Nazarath with welcoming arms, a sign of peace. We all wake up and get dressed. All of a sudden it started pouring down rain. We all started running to the car to avoid getting wet, and Will got into the driver seat and started the car up. Then everybody else gets in the car.  While we are driving to the Christ the Reedemer, the car runs out of gas and everyone except Will, who is steering, has to get out and push the car 1 mile to the closest gas station. We fill up on gas and continue driving. We finally get up there so we get out in the pouring rain and walk right up to it.  We take some pictures of us with it.  When we were walking back to our car, we see it sliding down the hill, because it is so muddy.  We all start sprinting after it and Matt trips and falls in the mud. Will manages to catch up to the car, get in it, and start it up just before it reaches the edge of a cliff.  Then we have to drive back and help Matt get out of the mud.  All of us are now soaking wet and muddy so we decide to go back to the hotel and get showers to get cleaned up.  Once we are done with that we head out to go get some delecious dinner.
